Miles Hildebrand, DVM

Dr. Hildebrand completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University, College Of Veterinary Education in 1998, completing his clinical studies at North Carolina State University.
His undergraduate education was completed at Texas A&M University with an interest in Political Science.

Dr. Hildebrand grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. where his father owned racehorses and he worked as a groom at the track.  He was involved in semi-pro, college, and minor league baseball as a player, coach, and scout. Before vet school, Dr. Hildebrand worked in politics, including as a White House Liaison.  Now he enjoys sailing, ice hockey, scuba diving, and spending time with his wife, son, and their two English bulldogs.
Elizabeth Kruttlin, DVM, MS

Dr. Kruttlin completed her Doctor of Veterinary Degree at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003.  In conjunction with veterinary school, she also completed a Masters degree, focusing her research on the Prevention of EPM in horses.

Dr. Kruttlin was born and raised in northern Michigan.  In her spare time she enjoys traveling, horseback riding, and downhill skiing.
Jessica D. Younk, DVM
Associate

Special Interests: Lameness, Surgery, Emergency medicine, Reproduction

Dr. Younk graduated from Michigan State University with an Animal Science degree in 2004, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She then completed an internship at Wisconsin Equine Clinic & Hospital, gaining invaluable experience in all areas of equine medicine, surgery, lameness, and reproduction. Upon completion of the internship, she remained at Wisconsin Equine for additional training in emergency medicine and advanced reproductive procedures.

Dr. Younk grew up in a small northern Michigan town, where her family has raised Morgans for many years.  She now owns a young warmblood mare with hopes of pursuing her interest in Dressage.  In her spare time, she enjoys working with her young horse, and spending as much time as she can outdoors.  Her interests include biking, kayaking, hiking, and snowmobiling among many others.


Danielle Erb, DVM
Intern

Dr. Erb grew up in Wixom, Michigan. She studied biochemistry at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan for three years before being accepted to veterinary school at Michigan State University in her junior year. She then received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2009. She has joined the practice to focus more intently on equine medicine for her internship year.

Dr. Erb has been riding horses since she was five years old. Her grandparents and aunt own cutting horses and she used to show cutting horses during her high school years. She also used to help her grandfather train horses.

In her spare time she enjoys trail riding, weight training, traveling, running with her dog Rocky, and playing with her two cats Pippin and Kilyan. She is very excited to join the practice and looks forward to meeting all of the clients and their beloved horses.

Megan Tilly, LVT
Veterinary Technician

Megan Tilly is a licensed veterinary technician who has been with Blue Water Equine Hospital since January 2005. Megan attended Macomb Community College and obtained her veterinary technician license in 2004. During that time, she worked in a small animal veterinary practice utilizing her technical skills in areas such as surgery, anesthesia and emergency situations. She is now a member of AAEVT, an organization supporting equine veterinary technician.

Megan grew up in Algonac, Michigan, and spent most of her time on her grandparent's horse farm, riding since the age of 2. She now resides in Clay Township, Michigan, with her husband, Ron and their 3 dogs Bosco, Dozer and Reny. Most of Megan's free time is spent with her horse, Mouse, a Thoroughbred gelding, whom she rides various disciplines.

Robert Brusie, DVM, Dip. ACVS
Board-certified Surgeon

Dr. Brusie graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at the Marion DuPont Scott Equine Center in 1989 and has been in private practice ever since. He became Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1994. Dr. Brusie joined the Palm Beach Equine Clinic in 1996.  He performs elective procedures at Blue Water Equine Hospital and provides surgical consultation.

He has published various articles on such topics as the equine intestinal tract and septic arthritis in horses. His surgical experience expands PBEC’s ability in providing progressive care in both emergency and elective procedures.

Dr. Brusie is married and has three daughters.
